The Executive Director of the Tanzanian National Bureau of Standards (TBS) has issued a formal official confirmation that this Conformity Assessment Procedure (PVOC) can be implemented and implemented.
All controlled products covered by the PVOC program must be inspected to meet Tanzanian national standards and other recognized standards, on which basis a Certificate of Product Compliance (COC) is issued.
Tanzania will implement the CoC of Conformity certification of products from February 1, 2012, English name: Certificate of Conformity, which belongs to pre-shipment inspection.
All products on the controlled catalogue list in Tanzania need to apply for a COC prior to shipment, otherwise they cannot be cleared at the destination port.
Different from the previous Tanzanian shipment inspection, the Tanzanian COC needs to be applied before shipment, and once the goods have left the port, the COC cannot be replenished.
In addition, the Tanzanian COC also needs to submit the product testing report and other materials for document review. Only after the approval of the review, the pre-shipment inspection can be arranged and the COC certificate can be obtained.
The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is a document necessary to ensure smooth customs clearance of the goods. This certificate certifies that the product complies with the relevant Tanzanian technical requirements and national, regional and international standards.
Failure to submit a certificate of conformity issued by the inspection authority may result in delays in customs clearance, fines or even a return of the goods to the exporting country.

Tanzania PVoC Certification Process

1. Provide information such as invoices, inspection reports, etc.

2. Submit application and arrange inspection after approval.

3. Provide the final invoice list after the inspection is qualified, and importer CR NO arranges the draft.

4. Confirm the draft and issue the original certificate.

Tanzania PVOC certificate processing cycle:

Audit time: 2-3 working days (the audit time may be extended according to the number of product names)
Inspection time: according to the specific schedule of the inspection department and the customer, the on-site inspection date will be determined.
Issue time: after passing the inspection, the draft will be sent to the customer for confirmation within 3 working days.


Notes for handling PVOC certificate in Tanzania:

1. Validity period of test report
A: For disposable medical products, dry batteries, stationery, cosmetics, disposable hygiene products, fertilizers, textiles, tiles and PVC flooring, A recent test report (within 3 months) is required. For other products, the validity period of the test report can be extended to one year.
B: Electrical products shall provide IEC test report on safety performance;

2. If the goods are packed with wood and plant materials, please provide fumigation certificate or visible fumigation mark from the official or its authorized institution.

3. Inspection and assembly supervision must be carried out at the same time and place.
If the address is not consistent, unknown or the address is changed temporarily, and the inspection cannot be carried out in time, the applicant company/factory must make a new appointment for the inspection, and our company will charge the re-inspection fee in the next inspection.
