Following the development of the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM), SASO implemented an electronic platform called SABER for compliance assessments.
SASO encourages the use of this platform to apply for and obtain product certificates and lot certificates for goods covered by the SASO Technical Regulations, as well as to apply for and obtain self-declaration and lot certificates for any goods not covered by the SASO Technical Regulations.

SABER Certification
1. SABER certification refers to the compliance certification evaluation plan for non-Saudi enterprises (that is, enterprises exported to Saudi Arabia). Therefore, for Chinese export enterprises, it is the SABER certification plan that needs to be paid attention to.
2. SALEEM and SABER are newly launched upgrades based on the original SASO certification and the new certification and recognition program that will replace SASO certification, SALEEM certification, a compliance certification evaluation program for local Saudi enterprises.

Major changes in SABER certification
1. SABER is a new assessment program for conformance certification of products and lots bound for Saudi Arabia.
2. The Saleem Project has launched a new online application system called "Saber".
3. SABER certification is a new online application system launched by SASO. SABER is essentially a web tool for registering, issuing and obtaining CoC certificates of conformity for products.
4. According to Saber, products will be divided into high - medium - low risk categories; Depending on the type of risk, different compliance testing procedures will be used and will be performed by different accreditation bodies.

The relationship between SALEEM, SABER and SASO?
1. SALEEM and SABER are newly launched upgrades based on the original SASO certification and the new certification and recognition program that will replace SASO certification.
2. SALEEM compliance certification program, is a set of regulations, technical requirements and control measures as one of the integrated system, its goal is to ensure the safety of local products and imported products.
3. SABER is an online networking system tool launched by the Saudi Authority of Standards for product registration, issuance and acquisition of the CoC Certificate of Conformity. According to SABER, different compliance testing procedures will be used according to the risk category and will be carried out by the recognized institutions.

Certification process
First of all, create a company account on SABER system. There are three steps to pass the SABER system certification. Please provide the following information:

1. Product list (products that need to be registered)
2. Product certification (pass CB certification, each model is valid for one year)
3. Pre-shipment certification (inspection by batch)

1. Documents required for the product list (product registration) :

A. Authorization signed and sealed by the importer

B. Application form for registration of the type of product to be registered

C. Company Business Registration Certificate

D. Saber account and password (if not, we can apply)

E. Photo of the logo for each model

F. Product photos, at least two for each product

2. Documents required for product certification (PCOC) :

A. Supplier (importer) qualification application

B. Test report issued by an accredited laboratory

C. Energy Efficiency Certificate (if required)

D. Mark Certificate (if required)

E. IECEE Certificate (if required)

F. Instruction

G. Provide photos with product packaging, label, logo, and power plug (if required)

F. Business Registration Certificate of the Importer

3. Information required for pre-shipment certification (SCOC) :

A. Commercial invoice

B. Technical documentation

C. Certificate of origin

D. A bill of lading
