Kuwait KUCAS Certification

Kuwait KUCAS Certification

Kuwait notified the TBT Committee on 17 December 2006 of its intention to implement a new Kuwait Local Conformity Assurance System (KUCAS) to replace the existing International Conformity Certification Program (ICCP).
In view of accepting the valuable comments of the members of the TBT Committee on the KUCAS Guidelines, Kuwait hereby informs the TBT Committee that it is extending the period for submissions and delaying the implementation of the KUCAS in accordance with the dates indicated in items 9 and 10 of the present communication in order to allow sufficient time to study the submissions and will consider modifying the Guidelines as far as possible accordingly.
PAI revised the previously implemented ICCP plan to the Kuwait Conformity System Assessment Kucas (Kuwait Conformity System Assessment) Scheme and cancelled the original pre-shipment testing as of 1 September 2006.

Since 17 March 2003, The Kuwait Industry Authority (PAI: The Public Authority for Industry) has implemented The International Conformity Certification Programme (ICCP:
International Conformity Certification Program), the Conformity assessment and confirmation of the products imported from Kuwait, all the controlled products must obtain the COC (Certificate of Conformity) issued by PAI's authorized body before entering Kuwait, before customs clearance smoothly.
